Eligibility criteria

Minimum age: 22 years old. Applicants must be nationals of or legal residents in the country of assignment.

Description of task

Under the direct supervision of Chief Strategic Planning Officer the National UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:

  • Support the Unit Chief in devising, supporting, reviewing and monitoring the implementation of RSCE corporate strategies and initiatives, such as: Capacity Building, Knowledge Management, Multilingualism, Adaptive Working Hours, and Business Continuity Planning;

  • Provide expertise and technical advice on information management, training and knowledge management tools and develop the communication strategies around them;

  • Conduct research, collect and analyse data using data analytics tools, prepare briefs, frameworks, action plans and reports on strategic improvements to RSCE operations and service delivery;

  • Support the preparation of documents for the RSCE Governance meetings when required;

  • Assist in compliance related initiatives, such DFS Shared Services Review or similar documents;

  • Design, and test information tools and products for the RSCE including but not limited to the RSCE training page; Knowledge management portals?

  • Communicate with clients, Service Line/Section managers and the Office of the Chief on strategic guidelines;

  • Identify key contacts, constituencies and opportunities for strategic partnerships to facilitate service delivery improvements and maintain working relationships;

  • Develop knowledge management tools to ensure organizational resilience and growth;

  • Support in planning of events including but not limited to training events.

  • Keep abreast of new initiatives/policies by the UN Secretariat, DOS, etc.

Qualifications/Requirements Required degree level: Master degree or equivalent Education - Additional Comments:

Masters Degree from (Master's degree or equivalent) in Business Administration, Management, Economics, Public Administration or a related field from an Accredited University listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database (https://whed.net/home.php).

Required experience: 60 Months Experience remark:

A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in project/programme management, development, or related area with international organizations are required (preferably United Nations).

Language skills:
  • English(Mandatory), Level - Fluent
Area of expertise: Development programme/project administration Area of expertise details:
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in project/programme management, development, or related area with international organizations are required (preferably United Nations).

  • Experience in data analysis and in supporting preparation of reports for senior management are required.

  • Experience in preparing clear and concise reports.

  • Experience working with international institutions.

    Project proposal/Grant writing experience is desirable.
