Job Description
The NY Resettlement Manager oversees the development, implementation, and completion of all grants, contracts and activities related to the following programs: resettlement services, particularly associated with the immediate needs of recently resettled refugees; intensive case management; asylum-seeking families; and services for unaccompanied children. Responsibilities include supervision of all resettlement casework staff to ensure compliance with program requirements. This is a full-time, exempt position reporting to the Deputy Director. Responsibilities: Oversight of Programs: Effectively manage the development, implementation, compliance, and completion of all service grants and contracts. Oversee program budgets and manage expenses to ensure costs are maintained within allocated budgets. Accountable for ensuring accurate and timely reporting of services and programmatic data to donors and all relevant parties. Provide leadership to ensure that the resettlement team develops and maintains partnerships with internal and external stakeholders. Coordinate closely with other program managers and IRC staff to ensure seamless delivery of services to clients utilizing a client-centered service model. Report regularly to the Deputy Director on activities and results as well as areas of concern. Participate as active member of the IRC in New York’s Senior Management Team and relevant internal and external groups. Leadership and Supervision of Resettlement Team: Responsible for the recruitment, orientation, and supervision of Case Workers and all other resettlement staff. Train and provide leadership to staff in all aspects of programs responsibilities. Develop, implement, and ensure compliance of internal program policies and procedures. Serve as point person and resettlement team representative for collaboration and correspondence with stakeholders including partner agencies, service providers, and donors. Represent the resettlement team within the IRC network in conferences, working groups and other contexts. Facilitate interdepartmental communication and information sharing for monthly newsletters, program reports, etc. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
University undergraduate degree required (four year, B.A./B.S.); an advanced degree in social work or other human services field is preferred Minimum of three (3) years of experience in providing direct services to refugees is required; a minimum of one (1) year of supervising case workers in a refugee resettlement setting is preferred Experience managing a team of direct service providers is preferred Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills Demonstrated proficiency in working with MS Office applications, with strong command of Excel Reliable, professional, resourceful, team-oriented and sensitive to cultural differences Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience working in a multicultural environment #LI-GR1
