Present in Sierra Leone since 1999, IRC supports the Sierra Leonean institutions – government, civil society, community-based organizations and private sector – to provide improved social services, decrease youth unemployment and mitigate gender-based violence.  IRC do this through programs and partnerships designed to improve the life of women, youth, and children by implementing Health, Education, Youth and Gender Based Violence programming.  IRC has a Country Program office in Freetown, a regional Field Office in Kenema, Field Offices in Kono and Bo, and a satellite office in Kailahun.

Job Summary

IRC Sierra Leone is currently looking for an Information and Technology Coordinator (IT Coordinator) for a temporary transfer Assignment (TTA) to ensure management and strategic planning within the IT department while waiting for the recruitment of a permanent staff.

Under the dual supervision of the Deputy Director for Operations and the Regional IT Director (through the Management in Partnership of the IT function - MiP), the IT Coordinator TTA will be the lead IT person in the Country, ensuring IT Service management for desktop support to end users, Network configurations and Server system administration, end users applications installations, mobile devices configurations, installation and configuration of network printers and other computers peripherals, local domain management and Internet access management. He will also be the focal point for all Country and HQ led IT projects in the Country, including INTEGRA and BvA online administration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Continue to drive Key IT projects pending the recruitment of a permanent IT Coordinator.a.End Users Computer Refresh (replacing old computers with new ones from the IRC headquarters)
  • Migrate all computers from Windows 7 to 10 and update documentation
  • Regular Connectivity Testing in preparation for Integra Performance on All Sites and lead the Migration to new Internet Service Providers (ISP) where applicable.
  • Migrate data from the file server and end users’ computers to the cloud BOX MASTER FOLDER
  • Continue the deployment of Windows Server 2016 and KACE on all Sites.
  • Work with the DDO, Regional IT and HR Coordinator on the recruitment of the new IT Coordinator
  • Ensure orientation and detailed handover with the new IT Coordinator to be recruited.
  • Provide daily IT technical support for IRC Sierra Leone users

Working Relationship

  • The TTA IT Coordinator will supervise the existing Senior IT Officer and the IT Assistant.
