This position is advertised open to internal and external applicants. 1. General Background

The Technical Secretariat (TS) is the body created within the framework of the Quito Process that is responsible for providing technical,  operational,  communicational and administrative support to  the  Presidency pro témpore  (PPT) for the follow-up to the Declarations, Action Plan and Road-map approved by Member States.

2. Purpose and Scope of Assignment

¿ Support in the development and implementation of a communication strategy,
¿ Creation and maintenance of the Website of the Quito Process,
¿ Preparation of periodic reports,
¿ Encourage the exchange of information between Member States.

3. Monitoring and Progress Controls

¿ Support in the management of content and the maintenance of repositories, common databases and the web portal, ensuring the timely updating of documents shared by the Technical Secretary of the Quito Process.
¿ Assist in the production of content through video editing, data and information visualization through the creation of basic info-graphics and the design of other standardized visibility products.
¿ Coordinate and support in the development of a communication strategy of the Quito Process meetings.
¿ Stay informed of all changes in the region to prepare regular reports on the Quito Process and related to the situation in the region.
¿ Maintain a link with all units/counterparts to collect and systematize accurate data and activities.
¿ Facilitate the distribution of information, communications and reports with different counterparts on a regular basis (organizations, donors and authorities).
¿ Lead and organize informative events with different counterparts about the Quito Process.
¿ Preparation of media monitoring in the framework of the Quito Process meetings that consolidates the news generated from meetings and political developments in the region that have an impact on Venezuelan refugees and migrants.
¿ Assist in the translation of documents from English to Spanish and vice versa.
¿ Keep up to date the list of focal points, list of contacts and actors involved in the Quito process;
¿ Other tasks that are bestowed by the ¿Presidentia pro Tempore  ¿ PPT in functions.

4. Qualifications and Experience

a. Education: Graduated in journalism, law, international relations, economics, business administration/management, graphic design, social sciences or related fields.

b. Work Experience: Minimum 5 years of professional work experience (external relations, donor relations, policy advocacy) in humanitarian aid activities.

c. Key Competencies

¿ MS Office Knowledge and Usage Level: High
¿ Design tools level (Adobe package): Intermediate
¿ Familiarity in the use of social media
¿ Knowledge of editing and design programs
¿ Database management
¿ Excellent interpersonal relationships, teamwork capacity, responsibility and discipline, high degree of confidentiality, loyalty to the Organization, training in values, conduct and ethical principles that allow her/him to maintain impartiality and interact appropriately with international/national officials, maintaining respect for different cultures and ideologies. Spanish and English level: High. Good writing and spelling in Spanish and English Please note that this position is offered under UNOPS International ICA contract at IICA-2 level for 6 months.
