Supply Chain Management Specialist

Minimum age: 25 years old. Nationals of the country of assignment are not eligible, except the assignments in Headquarters duty stations.

Description of task

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of the Team Lead, under the overall guidance of the Incident Manager and Head of WHO Country Office, the UN Volunteer will:

  • Support Central Warehouse Store to manage and well distribute and analyze the medical supplies needs;
  • Provide timely, proactive and expert advice and support, to the Incident Management team and Head of UNDP Country Office and MoH in the figure of FNM, on all supply matters in the context of the emergency response including coordination and communication with regional offices as required;
  • Manage the implementation of the supply management tools and systems, propose different options of an adapted Supply Chain Management strategy to the IMS Coordination team, as needed;
  • Ensure end-to-end follow-up of the requisitions placed for emergency response; develop and maintain an efficient and reliable tracking system;
  • Oversee effective and efficient warehouses management, mainly FNM;
  • Liaise with technical experts to ensure proper needs identification from stakeholders, and financial validation;
  • Coordinate with partners to manage the emergency supply response (request management, stock level, shipment, etc.);
  • Design KPIs to monitor the supply operations efficiency;
  • Provide regular reporting on OSL emergency response supply activities;
  • Perform any other related incident-specific duties, as required by the functional supervisor.
Qualifications/Requirements Required degree level: Bachelor degree or equivalent Education - Additional Comments:
  • First level university degree in development economics, business administration, logistics, engineering, supply chain management from an accredited and recognized academic institution, is required;
  • Training or knowledge of information management systems and their application to supply chain management and monitoring, is desirable;
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Required experience: 60 Months Experience remark:
  • At least five (5) years of relevant professional work experience, at the national and international level, in supply chain management or supply logistics in a health care emergency response, or humanitarian response operations, or related area is required;
  • Prior relevant work experience in UN system, health cluster partners, relevant nongovernmental or humanitarian organizations, work in the field of outbreaks and/or health emergency response, is desirable;
  • First level university degree in development economics, business administration, logistics, engineering, supply chain management from an accredited and recognized academic institution, is required;
  • Training or knowledge of information management systems and their application to supply chain management and monitoring, is desirable;
  • At least five (5) years of relevant professional work experience, at the national and international level, in supply chain management or supply logistics in a health care emergency response, or humanitarian response operations, or related area is required;
  • Prior relevant work experience in UN system, health cluster partners, relevant nongovernmental or humanitarian organizations, work in the field of outbreaks and/or health emergency response, is desirable.
Language skills:
