OVERVIEW OF THE FUNCTIONS OF THE POSTUnder the supervision of the Director of UNESCO Lima Office, and working closely with the Culture, Education, Sciences, and Communication and Information Coordinators, the incumbent will design a partnership building and resource mobilization strategy using sustainable tools and procedures and coordinate its implementation. The Resource Mobilization Officer will provide an exhausting mapping of institutional actors and allies, particularly from the private sector, in order to support strengthening of UNESCO’s position in the country.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES• To support the UNESCO Lima Office in formulating and implementing its Resource Mobilization Plan, including the related action plan, which details ongoing fundraising efforts across the country, with an inter-sectorial and territorial approach.
• To carry out an exhaustive mapping of institutional actors and allies, particularly from the private sector. This includes:
Mapping of organizations they have worked with in the past.
Mapping of new potential allies.
Identification of their priorities / interest topics.
Review of the mechanisms for transferring resources to UNESCO.
Preparation of a complete file for each identified potential ally.
• To design the modality of approach to the possible ally and organize the meetings, sessions and other pertinent activities.
• To prepare content and materials related to the positioning and role of UNESO in the fields of Education, Culture, Sciences and Communication and Information.
• To identify and prepare the necessary materials for each meeting.
• To properly follow up and support the sector coordinators for the preparation of project proposals, once an initial agreement has been reached with the counterpart.
• To keep track of donors in the Constituency Relationship Management (CRM) tool, monitor all resource mobilization efforts and systematically share information and updates with the relevant units, including sections of Bureau of Strategic Planning (BSP) at the UNESCO Headquarters.
• To support the Public Information and Image Coordinator in the development of a set of compelling communication assets that can be customized easily for different donors.
• To participate in relevant webinars, trainings and workshops organized by BSP and/or other Regional and National Offices in the Latin-American region.
• Other pertinent activities that may arise.
Education:
• Bachelor's Degree or Master Degree in Social Sciences, Communication, Social Marketing or other relevant fields to resource mobilization.
Work Experience:
• Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience: proven resource mobilization/marketing experiences;
• Two or more experiences in writing material for partnerships/resource mobilization, including policies, project proposals and promotional material;
• One or more experience in resource mobilization for the United Nations or another international or development organization will be considered an asset.
Skills and competencies:
• Excellent interpersonal skills for teamwork and work in a multicultural setting and ability to interact effectively with different stakeholders inside and outside the Organization;
• Excellent ability to organize meetings, calls and documents that may require the input of multiple sources
Languages:
• Excellent knowledge of Spanish and English.
