ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

Under the overall supervisor of the ODM Officer, the incumbent will act as lead Software Engineer coordinating and leading a team of developers responsible for building new and support existing websites; designing, developing and installing software solutions; the incumbent will manage development timeline and tasks estimation and prioritization with the ability to work across multiple facets of the project and curry on the software engineer tasks. This includes full collaboration in the whole software development lifecycle.


Responsibilities

- Responsible for developing, maintaining, and cataloguing the MENA software documents (technical documentation).
- Manage, plan, schedule, and control software build through different stages and platforms including defects tracking, testing, and deploying software releases using Azure DevOps.
- Liaise with relevant staff on new reporting requirements and procedures as needed; conduct data collection audits to ensure that no unnecessary data collection occurs and to ensure that all necessary data is being captured; create and maintain databases that meet operational requirements.
- Assist in the management, maintenance, modifications, and technical support of systems used in the MENA
- Provide training to users on the various systems and tools used in the MENA region.
- Assist in the development of new applications and databases needed by the UNHCR Offices/Units in the region.
- Assist in management the use, maintenance and technical support of databases used in the MENA, including input and verifications; design and develop of standard reports and any request ad hoc reports.



Qualifications

- Experience with Scrum/Agile development methodologies.
- Capable of delivering on multiple competing priorities with little supervision.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage a small team of developer(s)/tester(s)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Azure DevOps and Administration
- Experience/understanding with web programing technologies including but not limited to HTML, JavaScript, CSS, etc.
- Ability to write, test and refine C# code, ASP.NET and SQL (Professional level). Temporary Appointment for 6 months 21 January 2021
