Eligibility criteria

Minimum age: 25 years old. Nationals of the country of assignment are not eligible, except the assignments in Headquarters duty stations.

Description of task

Under the direct supervision of FIOC Team Leader [Juba] the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:

  • Collate reports with recommendations where necessary, including daily situation and incident reports & sharing of information with Joint Mission Analysis Centre and Joint Operations Centre;
  • Support the FIOC Team Leader (TL) in drafting the monthly thematic report for the mission leadership;
  • Support the TL in planning & operational processes for current & future field operations;
  • Support the TL to manage the flow of information to be used as a decision-making & planning tool for the field office;
  • Support the TL in reviewing logistical & coordination need and install mechanisms to ensure effective operations in the field office;
  • Draft scenarios for TTXs and participate in same;
  • Draft after action review after TTXs;
  • Participate in the crisis management working group;
  • Upload the daily situation reports on SAGE database;
  • Provide secretariat support during the senior management meetings;
  • Support in the day-to-day running of the FIOC;
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge & understanding of political, social & security issues in the AOR;
  • Build effective networks with field office authorities, CTSAMVM & humanitarian community.
Qualifications/Requirements Required degree level: Bachelor degree or equivalent Education - Additional Comments:

Bachelor's degree in Political science, International Relations or Human Rights

Required experience: 36 Months Experience remark:

· Good writing and editing skills;

· Good organisational and planning skills;

· Good communication skills.

Language skills:
  • English(Mandatory), Level - Fluent
Area of expertise: Public information and reporting Area of expertise details:

Computer skills: e.g. Solid computer skills, including full proficiency in various MS Office applications (Excel, Word etc.)

Driving license: No Competencies values:
