SCOPE OF WORK: The MED Intern assist the Micro-Enterprise Development (MED) Programs with core operations and special projects of the programs. The intern will learn through experience about entrepreneurship, income- and asset-building programs while working with diverse refugee populations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Data collection and input into database
Verify data integrity and eliminate duplication
Survey clients regarding current income/asset holdings, compare against baseline at enrollment, and then aggregate/report findings
Review client intake documents to ensure completeness
Maintain electronic client files
Assist with coordination and facilitation of workshops for Microenterprise clients
Provide mentorship and technical assistance to business owners
Assist with technical assistance services through marketing & business-sector research
LEARNING OUTCOMES: The MED Intern will have the opportunity
to hone cross-cultural communication, strategic planning skills, financial
analysis, accounting procedures. The intern will also have the opportunity to
become familiar with the global non-profit environment and working with refugee
populations.
