We Effect is a development organisation founded by the Swedish cooperative movement in 1958 to support the development of democratic organisations and societies. In our international development cooperation programmes, we are applying a human rights-based approach supporting people living in poverty to secure their rights.

We Effect works in 25 countries in Asia, Europe, Latin America and Africa through our regional offices in partnership with local CSO’s, farmer organisations, cooperative federations and other democratic organisations. For more information, see www.weeffect.org.

We Effect in Europe Region was established as a regional office in Skopje, North Macedonia 2017. The region is supporting 11 partner organisations in the region under the programme “Empower Europe”. The regional team currently consists of 8 staff and based in Skopje. The support is directed for North Macedonia, Albania, Kosovo, Bosnia & Herzegovina and Moldova.

 

We Effect is now recruiting a Programme administrator as part of the Regional office in Skopje, North Macedonia.

 

Main responsibilities

The Programme development team is supervised by the Programme Director who is responsible for overseeing all matters concerning programme management. The team is  consisting of Programme Officers, each responsible for technical support to the partner organisations as well as thematic mainstreaming areas such as Gender equality, Environment Climate Change Resilience and Financial inclusion. The Programme administrator´s main responsibilities are to support the programme management through the full programme cycle to secure compliance with We Effect´s internal procedure, donor requirements and agreed goals for the development projects under the programme. Tasks will be focused on primarily regional matters, such as monitoring of the programme, reports, meetings, workplans with a specific responsibility to oversee the programme management online system´s compliance to internal requirements.

 

About you

To succeed in this role, you are interested to gain experience and contribute to a good working environment in an international organization with vast experience supporting development projects. You are sharing the values of We Effect. You may already have some experience from the NGO sector working with projects and/or an education related to project management or other relevant areas.

You are curious and willing to learn and to give support to all stages of project and programme development. You are comfortable using digital tools and to work toward deadlines. You will work directly with the programme management with all regional matters, such as monitoring of the administration for minutes, reports, project and programme documents, meetings, workplans etc. You will be trained in the programme management online system to assume responsibility within the system for compliance to internal requirements. You can work independently as well as a part of a team.

You have a sense for details, are solution-oriented and able to work with deliverables towards deadlines. You actively contribute to develop your own role and function for a smooth implementation of the programme. When the situation allows, you are willing and able to travel in country as well as the region. We Effect´s working language is English, you must be a proficient user and comfortable using English in an everyday setting.

Example of tasks

  • Responsible for digital and physical archiving of programmatic documentation in accordance with We Effect regulations.
  • Support programme management in collecting information, uploading and maintaining accurate data in the Programme management online system.
  • Support the Regional Management in recurring procedures, such as project/programme documentation, monitoring, reports writing, grants applications.
  • Assist in planning processes both for the region as well as partner organisations.
  • Assist and participate in national and regional meetings.
  • Support to communication activities

 

Required qualifications

  • University degree or equivalent experience.
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office and internet based application.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Work permit in North Macedonia. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to contribute to the positive reputation of the organisation.

 

Merits
