National Consultant: Health professional to support COVID-19 vaccination, Siem Reap, Cambodia

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Phnom Penh, Cambodia is looking to hire a national Health consultant to support COVID-19 vaccination. The consultant will work under the UNICEF health and nutrition section in Siem Reap. How can you make a difference?

UNICEF will recruit one national health consultant to be based in UNICEF’s Siem Reap zonal office, to support local level planning, coordination, community engagement and monitoring of COVID-19 vaccination roll-out, with local actors including Government and partners.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

- A university degree in one of the following fields is required: public health,  medical sciences, nutrition, family health, health research, global/international health, health policy and/or management, environmental health sciences, biostatistics, socio-medical, health education, epidemiology, or another relevant technical field.

- A minimum of one year of professional experience in one or more of the following areas is required: immunization programme, public health planning and management, maternal and neonatal health care, or health emergency/humanitarian preparedness.

- Experience working at sub-national level (Northwest zone) is considered as an asset.

- Relevant experience in a UN system agency or organization is considered as an asset.

- Knowledge of the local health system and experience working with and supporting Ministry of Health is an asset.

- Ability to work well with others

Individuals engaged under a consultancy or individual contract will not be considered “staff members” under the Staff Regulations and Rules of the United Nations and UNICEF’s policies and procedures and will not be entitled to benefits provided therein (such as leave entitlements and medical insurance coverage). Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.
