Under the direction of the Health Program Manager, the Mental Health Program Coordinator is responsible for addressing mental health focused service provision for newly arrived refugees resettled by the IRC SLC office including: implementing mental health screenings and referrals to individual treatment for newly resettled refugees, coordinating intakes to treatment and follow ups to care, consistent care coordination between partner agencies and clients, addressing severe mental health and community mental and emotional wellbeing needs, facilitating staffing meetings with mental health providers and acting as the primary reference point within the IRC office for mental health related activities and concerns.  This effort will center on the implementation of the Refugee Health Screener-15 (RHS-15), engaging in psychoeducational support, and facilitating group interventions.  Additionally, the Program Coordinator will oversee training for resettlement staff and outreach presentations to the refugee community on refugee mental health and trauma. 
Primary Responsibilities: 
•Monitor overseas data and information for all new arrivals for mental health related information
•Coordinate mental health intakes and follow up for all refugees referred to mental health treatment from the health screening
•Conduct RHS-15 screening at three months and one year post arrival; coordinate referrals to care as needed
•Track and analyze mental health screening data; provide regular reporting to Utah Department Health and other funders, as required
•Oversee and facilitate mental health focused groups (psychosocial and caregiver support groups, psychoeducation)
•Supervise Mental Health Screening Specialist and 1-2 mental health interns per semester
•Conduct monthly interagency staffing meetings and serve as liaison between mental health service providers and resettlement staff
•Conduct trauma informed care, self-care, and mental health first aid-focused trainings with staff and support staff in identifying and supporting client needs around mental health 
•Conduct outreach and training on refugee mental health and trauma-informed service provision for refugee populations
•Comply with all policies and protocols of the agency
•Other duties as assigned. 
Job Requirements:
•Bachelor’s degree required; preferably in mental health related field; Psychology or Social Work; Master’s degree preferred
•Minimum 2-3 years of work experience in mental health; preferably with diverse/refugee population
•Familiarity with the local mental health care system and means of accessing care for low-income individuals and those on Medicaid
•Fluency in written and spoken English, additional knowledge of languages spoken by refugees encouraged and appreciated
•Demonstrated ability to work as a team member in a multi-cultural environment
•Strong computer skill with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and ability to learn and utilize multiple electronic systems
•Competency in data management and entry 
•Familiarity with confidentiality guidelines and HIPAA 
•Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively
