Founded in 1933, the IRC offers lifesaving care and life-changing assistance to refugees forced to flee from war or disaster. At work today in over 40 countries, the IRC aims to restore safety, dignity and hope to millions who are uprooted and struggling to endure.
In response to the influx of refugees in Greece, the IRC Hellas started operations in Greece in June 2015 and currently runs operations out of four offices in Athens, Mytilini, Vathy (Samos) and Chios. IRC is implementing programs in the sectors of Mental Health, Child Protection, Gender Based Violence prevention and response, Water and Sanitation, Shelter and Site Management Support, Emergency and COVID-19 preparedness and response and Economic Recovery & Development.
SCOPE OF WORK: The Grants Officer works closely with the Grants Manager to ensure the oversight of grants and partnerships management processes for IRC Hellas, in line with internal and donor requirements, collaborate to produce high quality donor reports and provide support to business development for ongoing and new programs.
RESPONSIBILITIES 
The Grants Officer shall:
•Take the lead on internal and external reporting with programs and finance, ensuring high-quality, well-written and timely reports meeting donor and IRC requirements. Maintain close collaboration with all relevant departments in preparation of donor reports.
•Help to ensure that IRC grants contracts in Greece are well-administered and implemented in compliance with the relevant donor regulations and IRC procedures.
•Lead grant monitoring meetings and partnership meetings to ensure that grants and partnerships are implemented in compliance with the IRC and relevant donor regulations and to ensure strong financial management proper operational openings and closings of grants, and monitoring and evaluation of programmatic progress. Support organization of meetings and the follow-up to action points.
•Maintain a broad and deep understanding of donor policies, regulations, and procedures and assist program technical leads and operations staff with understanding them.
•Contribute and coordinate the development of high quality proposals and concept papers for submission to donors.
•Be involved in program design for new business development opportunities with relevant program and field staff.
•Develop and maintain effective working relationships with all departments, partners, organizations and actors.
•Ensure quality information management through regular maintenance of grant files, reporting calendars, timely submission and updating of internal IRC documentation and other grants management tracking tools (e.g. OTIS).
•Maintain filing and documentation of grant and program activities in coordination with relevant sector supervisors and coordinators to ensure institutional knowledge. 
•Other duties as assigned by the supervisor to enable and develop IRC programs.
KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS: 
•Position Reports to: Grants Manager
•Internal collaborations within IRC: All program teams; Finance; Supply Chain; M&E; HR; Regional Awards Management Unit; and Regional Communications team.
•External collaborations to IRC: IRC donors and implementing partners, NGOs
