BACKGROUND: Founded in 1933, the International Rescue Committee is a leading, non-sectarian, non-profit organization providing emergency relief, protection, rehabilitation assistance, resettlement services, and advocacy for refugees and victims of oppression or violent conflict.Domestically, our 25 offices across the U.S. ensure new arrivals have food, shelter, and clothing, and work with refugees to help them gain self-sufficiency.
SCOPE OF WORK: Youth Programs Intern will work directly with Youth Program Specialist to support refugee youth to meet their educational & career goals
•Create bi-weekly newsletter for youth mentors & mentees
•Help to recruit and maintain mentors & tutors for our refugee youth
•Assist to oversee our virtual afterschool tutoring program and provide assistance to tutors and youth as needed
•Assist to oversee Google Workspace tools such as Google classroom, forms, sheets, etc.
•Create Canva marketing tools such as brochures, infographics, and flyers for our youth programs
•Utilize Google Slides to produce training materials for current volunteers that are involved with youth programs
