About the Role

As One Acre Fund's Retail and Fleet Operations Associate in Kenya, you will directly manage transport operations, order processing and distribution to the 500,000+ farmers and 70+ Dukas that the Kenyan program serves, and your work will have a tremendous impact on our key mission of serving the small-holding farmer. You will report to the Logistics Senior Associate / Kenya Logistics Lead and will largely work with other departments including the Rural Retail, Field operations, Innovations Lab, and Business operations departments.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the execution and operational excellence of all deliveries across the Kenya Program.
  • Manage owned and subcontracted fleet of vehicles.
  • Achieve key KPI's such as On-Time Delivery, Delivery Accuracy, and Delivery Cost per Revenue.
  • Manage a team of ~30 logistics professionals comprising drivers and office staff.
  • Build a network of 3rd party transport service providers.
  • Make process changes aimed at improving efficiency and minimizing costs.
  • Build a team culture that represents One Acre Fund values and creates a diverse, equitable and inclusive work environment.

Qualifications

Across all roles, these are the general qualifications we look for. For this role specifically, you will have:

  • 5+ years of strong work or successful entrepreneurial experience.
  • Experience in supply chain, logistics, or other operational management.
  • Excel skills (can maintain complex spreadsheets and functions).
  • Experience setting strategic direction, managing projects from idea to implementation.
  • Leadership experience at work or outside of work.
  • Ability to build teams and work with colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
  • Humility. We are looking for passionate professionals who combine good humor, patience, and an approach to service to join our growing family of leaders.
  • Knowledge of Kaizen/ six sigma methodologies.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • Language: English and Swahili required in Kenya.
