NRC resumed operations in Sudan in 2020, providing humanitarian assistance, protection, and durable solutions. Our country programme integrates all of NRC’s six core competencies (camp management, education, ICLA, livelihoods, shelter, and WASH), and provides a rapid response capacity (including for the recent refugee emergency in eastern Sudan), and thematic capacities for cash and markets-based approaches, advocacy, digital modes of assistance, and co-leading various technical and strategic coordination platforms.

The purpose of the ICLA Coordinator position is to implement the delegated Information, Counselling and Legal Assistance (ICLA) project portfolio

The following is a brief description of the role. Generic responsibilities

1. Line management of ICLA Project Officers and ICLA Project Assistants operating in the Khartoum region.

2. Adherence to NRC policies, guidance and procedures

3. Contribute to ICLA strategy development, project proposals and provide input on needs and gaps at field level.

4. Manage and implement delegated portfolio of ICLA projects (activities, budget and project documentation in line with proposals, strategies and donor requirements, and ensure high technical quality of implementation)

5. Provide regular progress reports to the ICLA Project Manager

6. Ensure that projects target beneficiaries most in need of protection, explore and assess new and better ways to assist beneficiaries.

7. Promote and share ideas for improvement and necessary changes in the program activities.

8. Ensure capacity building of project staff and transfer key skills.

9. Liaise and collaborate with relevant local authorities and other key stakeholders including participation in relevant coordination meetings.

Specific responsibilities (Refer attached JD)

Our Ideal Candidate:

e are looking for a university graduate of law, social science or related field, with a minimum of four years’ previous experience in the field. Experience working in complex and volatile contexts, in particular in Sudan. Technical management expertise relevant to the role. Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities. Fluency in English and Arabic both written and verbal.

We are particularly looking for a positive individual with strong communication skills, who can build trust and confidently navigate both internally and externally at different levels. According to NRC’s salary scale and terms and conditions

Duty station: Khartoum Travel: 50%
