About the Role

Description of the role and Include:

  • Strategy and Planning

  • You will report directly to Government relations and Legal lead, for the first year you will not have direct reports but you will manage one person later

Responsibilities

  • Develop strategy
  • Lead engagement with external partners at all levels
  • Develop data Analysis, Reporting and systems for the department
  • Create cross team collaboration
  • Build our external engagement, maintain the existing relationships and tap in new Networks

Qualifications

Across all roles, these are the general qualifications we look for. For this role specifically, you will have:

  • We are looking for someone with 5 or more years of experience; preference for candidates with a background in Public Policy, Political Science, Public Administration, or International Development/Business.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to ethically form and maintain strong trust-based relationships with high-level government officials and government entities.
  • A record of success working with multiple partners to achieve positive change in the agriculture and development sector; strong understanding of current developments in agriculture policies and comprehensive knowledge of government structures and decision-making processes. Existing government networks are a plus.
  • Quantitative skills and with experience managing large data sets; demonstrated experience in a position requiring the use of analytical skills, including the ability to organize, interpret, integrate and present data in a clear and concise fashion.
  • Firm understanding of internal and external regulatory policy and laws and their application to our operations.
  • Advocacy, and negotiation skills: we are looking for someone who can access important partners, foster collaboration, and communicate clearly and succinctly both internally and externally across a variety of mediums such as reports, position papers and talking points.
  • Strong collaborator and project manager with demonstrated experience providing structured support across different departments
