Project management

·Coordinate and manage project operations and/or activities at site level
·Plan, budget and implement activities in the landscape for timely and effective generation of results.
·Conduct the day-to-day monitoring of project activities.
·Manage the Research and Development (R&D) activities of the project at site level.
·Manage budgets and funds for assigned projects activities to meet all the deliverables at site level.
·Facilitate, coordinate, and supervise the work of Z4ABC partners, consultants and other stakeholders at site level.
·Participate to enhance CIFOR-ICRAF’s presence in the landscape.
·Supervise co-workers at the site.
·Supervise sub-grants awarded to individuals or groups for the scaling up of tested value chains in the target landscapes
· Develop and maintain, in collaboration with the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) expert, a database of project technical activities, and stakeholder profiles.
  • Prepare project technical reports at landscape site level





Partnerships
  • Create and nurture Multi Actor Platforms (MAPS) for smooth implementation of community-based activities.
  • Maintain and further develop relationships with key partners and stakeholders in the landscape sites.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Z4ABC partners as well as facilitate and coordinate the work they are involved with the project at the landscape site level.

Budgeting and Expenditure Management

  • Manage activity-based budgets and funds to ensure that all the activities are executed timely, efficiently, and effectively.

Human Resources Management


  • Cultivate teamwork and resolve any conflicts constructively.
  • Supervise and contribute to the capacity building initiatives of project activities under implementation in the landscape site.

Outreach and Engagement

  • Engage with external media outlets for wider dissemination of the project research and development activities and results at landscape site level and beyond.
  • Coordinate and/or contribute to the policy-science dialogue of Z4ABC project
  • Coordinate and/or contribute to outcomes and impacts of the project.
  • Coordinate and/or contribute to communication targeted at policy makers (including workshops, website, and policy briefs) of the project.
  • Contribute to the planning, organization and conduct of CIFOR-ICRAF events in the landscape sites and Zambia in general.


Requirements

·BSc/BA degree in a relevant field, e.g., Project management, Development Studies, Rural development technology, sociology natural resource management, forestry, agroforestry, environmental sciences, agricultural or forest economics.

·At least seven years of experience working in Zambia in a research or development organization.

·Experience in project management and partner liaison.

·Demonstrated ability in supervising small grants for community led value chains

·Demonstrated achievement in conducting and reporting R&D on topics of strategic priority for CIFOR-ICRAF in the province or in Zambia.

·A high level of proficiency in written and spoken English.

·Good skills in major local languages spoken in the project site is desirable.
