CTG overview

CTG staff and support humanitarian projects in fragile and conflict-affected countries around the world, providing a rapid and cost-effective service for development and humanitarian missions. With past performance in 17 countries – from the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and Asia, we have placed more than 20,000 staff all over the world since operations began in 2006.

CTG recruits, deploys and manages the right people with the right skills to implement humanitarian and development projects, from cleaners to obstetricians, and mechanics to infection specialists, we’re skilled in emergency response to crises such as the Ebola outbreak in West Africa. Key to successful project delivery is the ability to mobilise at speed; CTG can source and deploy anyone, anywhere, in less than 2 weeks and have done so in 48 hours on a number of occasions.

Through our efficient and agile HR, logistical and operational services, CTG saves multilateral organisations time and money. We handle all our clients’ HR related issues, so they are free to focus on their core services.

Role objectives

·Develop advocacy plan for hygiene and sanitation promotion as part of overall health promotion strategic plan;

·Contribute in developing guidelines/manuals/ SoPs/ proposals/ concept notes for various health promotion areas, with more focus on hygiene and sanitation promotion;

·Collaborate with programmatic departments to promote understanding of and support for health promotion policies and programs;

·Advocate for creating supportive environment for positive behavior change for WASH;

·Review project CLTS and WinHCF data and ensure its quality and accuracy and provide required recommendations.

·Update MoPH officials and other relevant policy makers on health promotion policies and programs.

·Review CLTS and HCHP projects performance, identify gaps and opportunities for improvement.

·Support management of demand side intervention for CLTS and HCHP as per the SGD goals and targets;

·Facilitate and support WASH related events and forums including Hygiene Technical Working Group meetings, Hand Hygiene for All Initiative, Global Hand Washing Day, World Toilet Day, MHM Day, World Water Day, World Health Day, AfCOSAN, SACOSAN, and hand hygiene for all initiative;

·Contribute in the design of researches/ surveys concerning knowledge, attitude and practice of health behaviors;

·Any other tasks and duties assigned by supervisor.

DELIVERABLE (s)

·Hygiene and sanitation promotion strategic plan as part of overall health promotion strategic Plan developed.

·Policy documents are developed.

·Coordination with programmatic departments is strengthened and health promotion policies and programs are supported.

·Advocacy for creating enabling environment for positive behaviour change is conducted.

·Accuracy and quality of data is reviewed on regular basis and necessary recommendation are provided.

·MoPH officials are updated on health policies and programs.

· CLTS and HCHP programs are smoothly and effectively implemented.

·Demand side management for sanitation and hygiene promotion is supported.

·Implementation of international and national events are

·Relevant (KAP) research and surveys are conducted, and evidence is generated.

Supervisor is assisted on regular basis.

Further information

Qualification and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in medicine or public health, or other health field from a recognized university

  • Master’s degree in public health is preferred

  • At least 3 years of professional working experience in public health

  • Excellent communication skills, including consensus building, and giving public presentations

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office

  • Excellent writing skills in English and at least in one national language and fluency in both official national languages
