Digital Program Analyst/Associate – Data Engineering

 

The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) is looking for a Data Engineer joining our data team. The role will be responsible for establishing and expanding our data sets and data pipeline, as well as optimizing data flow and collection for cross functional systems and teams. The ideal candidate is an experienced data pipeline builder and data wrangler who enjoys optimizing data systems and building them from the ground up.

 

The Digital Program Analyst/Associate--Data Engineering will join the data team to contribute to Bank-wide data engineering initiatives and ensure optimal data delivery architecture is consistent throughout ongoing projects. The role will be under the Information Technology Department (ITD).

Responsibilities:

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

• Identity new structured and/ or unstructured data sets from both internal and external sources; assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional and non-functional business requirements.
• Create and maintain a scalable data pipeline, build new integrations to support continuing increases in data volume and complexity, and build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from various data sources using SQL and cloud technologies.
• Build analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to transform data into the format that can be used by data and analytics experts for greater functionality in the Bank's data platform.
• Work with data power users, data project managers, and data analysts to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
• Collaborate with data platform implementation teams to ensure optimal data delivery architecture is consistent throughout ongoing projects.

Requirements:

• Substantial experience in data engineering experience, a track record in building and optimizing data structures and pipelines.
• Advanced SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases.
• Familiar with data engineering processes that involve distilling value from large, disconnected datasets. Strong analytical skills related to working with unstructured datasets.
• Experience in performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes in order to respond to specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Previous experience with cloud platforms and cloud service providers (e.g., Azure) and cloud solutions/services.
• Experience in the following domains would be an advantage:
  • Financial industry data modeling and engineering
  • Metadata management, master and reference data management
  • Machine learning development, deployment, and optimization process
  • Message queuing, stream processing, and highly scalable ‘big data’ data stores

• Fluency in oral and written English. Demonstrated technical documentation skill is a must.
• Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience or a Master’s degree with a minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience from a reputable university in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Information Systems, or engineering, or equivalent experience.
