The role of the Chief Diversity Officer is to support the Director General in proposing actions that enhance the Agency’s wealth of diversity, while striving to ensure inclusiveness so that the values and objectives pursued through those actions become an inherent feature of the Agency’s policies and business practices.

Field(s) of activity for the internship

Topic: Diversity and Inclusiveness
    
The themes of diversity and inclusiveness are fostering increased attention. Policies become increasingly articulated to cover far more aspects than traditional topics, like gender or disabilities. Furthermore, the way to convey the effort of  bringing more diversity to the table and in ensuring inclusiveness take form is of ethical significance, especially when it comes to communication and the way we present our image to the public. The link between Diversity and Space careers has to be reinforced,  especially in younger generations, who are increasingly attentive to the values hold by an organisation, as factors relevant for their choices to attempt at a career or studies in this field. 

 

As an intern, your tasks will include:

  •  supporting Analysis including benchmarking of best practices relevant to D&I for the space sector and other comparable organisations;
  •  establishing and maintaining a database with information, statistics and analysis on D&I including best practices
  •  supporting organisation of events with other organisations and follow-up;
  •  supporting implementation and follow-up of communication on D&I, requiring in particular knowledge of the ethical aspects related to communication about Diversity on social media

Education

You must have student status and be enrolled at university for the entire duration of the internship. You should preferably be in your final or second to last year of a university course at master’s level in a technical or scientific discipline.

Additional requirements

The working languages of the Agency are English and French. A good knowledge of one of these is required. Knowledge of another Member State language would be an asset.

 

Other requirements:

  • Knowledge and experience of policy analysis related to Diversity & Inclusiveness, including on subjects related ethical matters, in particular with respect to the projection of commitment on social media and towards young generation.
  • Understanding of an international context and international exposure
