Based in Paris, BIAC is the officially recognised business voice to the OECD conveying business perspectives and expertise to policymakers on a broad range of global economic governance and policy issues. Our members are the leading business and employers organisations in OECD countries. We also include business organisations in selected non-OECD member countries, as well as international sectoral business organisations.

BIAC is recruiting a policy analyst who will work closely with our members to identify, develop, and formulate policy recommendations across business sectors in OECD and non-OECD countries. The selected person will facilitate the work of a range of BIAC committees and policy groups, including among others\:

  • Responsible Business Conduct
  • Anti-Corruption
  • Development and Emerging Markets
  • Investment

The selected person will also contribute to our work with members and observers, cross-cutting policy issues and ad-hoc background research for our leadership. S/he will work under the supervision of the Executive Director of BIAC.

Main Responsibilities\:

Policy analysis and drafting

  • Draft BIAC policy positions and comments, bringing together business views and expertise from across our membership, fostering consensus within our policy groups, and conveying agreed priority policy positions to the OECD.
  • Prepare briefings for our policy groups and leadership on key issues arising in the policy portfolio.
  • In co-operation with colleagues, contribute to the development of high-level policy statements.

Representation and liaison

  • Organise BIAC policy meetings with the support of committee leaders and effectively communicate our positions to the OECD.
  • Manage and organise business input to OECD policy work through participation in OECD consultations and related meetings.
  • Monitor OECD work in the policy portfolio and keep our members informed of OECD activities.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Academic Background

  • An advanced university degree in a relevant discipline, such as economics, international relations, or political science.

Professional Background

  • A minimum of two years of professional experience in relevant policy areas.
  • An excellent understanding of business perspectives in global markets.
  • Experience in interfacing with governmental and intergovernmental bodies.

Languages

  • Fluency in one of the two OECD official languages (English and French) and knowledge of the other, with a commitment to reach a good working level.
  • Knowledge of other languages would be an advantage.

For this role, the following competencies would be particularly important\: achievement focus, analytical thinking, drafting skills, strategic networking, teamwork, diplomatic sensitivity and the ability to rapidly adapt to change.

Contract Duration

  • Two-year fixed-term contract with the possibility for renewal.
  • Preferred start date\: first quarter of 2023.

What the OECD offers 

Monthly base salary starting from 5,020 EUR, plus allowances based on eligibility, exempt of French income tax.
