Malteser International has been working in Myanmar since 2001 and employs more than 240 national staff in Rakhine, Shan and Kayin states. Our work aims to ensure communities have access to primary health care services. We also offer comprehensive WASH and disaster risk reduction/climate change adaptation solutions and provide relief after disasters. Malteser International strives to enable and empower the most vulnerable communities in marginalized areas through a participatory and sustainable approach.

For its work in Maungdaw Program Office, Maungdaw Township, Rakhine State, Myanmar, Malteser International is looking for a motivated Health Manager – National Position.

Your responsibilities:

  • Ensure effective, efficient, and timely implementation of the Tuberculosis and Malaria projects according to the project proposals
  • Provide guidance and technical support to the Tuberculosis and Malaria teams, wherever necessary, in order to ensure good quality of service delivery and compliance with Malteser International guidelines
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships internally and externally with the Tuberculosis and Malaria Team, Public Health Care Team, Township Medical Officers as well as UN/ INGOs
  • Regularly track project objectives, indicators, expected outputs and ensure quality of data collection
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting according to requests from health authorities, donors and Malteser reporting calendar timeline
  • Provide inputs to project development in coordination with the program location and Country Office team
  • Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures in procurement, clinic, and medical warehouse

Your profile:

  • A licensed Medical Doctor (M.B., B.S)
  • At least 2 years experience in project management and technical supervision of health projects with UN or INGO as well as work experience in Tuberculosis and Malaria program
  • Experience in proposal and report writing
  • Good English language proficiency
  • Strong knowledge of Project Cycle Management as well as Monitoring and Evaluation framework related to the health sector
  • Ability to work in a team but also independently, excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills as well as the ability to deal with the local communities and authorities
  • Understanding of the local context situation

  • Duration of contract: Until 31st December 2023
  • Salary according to qualification and experience: Plus, Location Specific Allowance, 13th Month Salary, Contract end benefit as well as Health & Life Insurances
