The International Energy Agency (IEA) is an intergovernmental organisation committed to advancing security of energy supply, economic growth and environmental sustainability through energy policy co-operation.  The IEA operates as an autonomous body within the framework of the OECD. Both the IEA and the OECD seek opportunities to work with an increasing number of non-member countries of growing importance to the world economy. The Agency aims to foster the contribution of the energy sector to economic development and environmental sustainability across the globe.

The IEA is looking for a Multimedia Producer to develop content for the IEA’s digital channels. The main tasks will be to help produce, edit, and publish video and audio content that showcase the Agency’s work and messages. Applicants must have strong audiovisual skills, and demonstrable past experience working on digital content across multiple platforms. The ideal candidate will have experience working in journalism, visual communications or web publishing and will be comfortable working on deadline.

The position is located within the IEA Communications Office in Paris, and reports to the Head of Digital, News and Information Unit (DNI). The selected candidate will regularly interact with colleagues across the IEA and be expected to support and be involved in team-wide initiatives.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop ambitious short and long-form projects across video, animation, podcasts, etc. that showcase the Agency’s key messages, analysis, data, and impact.
  • Work with colleagues to develop and expand the IEA’s multimedia vision, helping the organisation evolve as a brand and better serve its key stakeholders and audiences. 
  • Shoot, edit, and post-produce videos and podcasts to a variety of deadlines. 
  • Work deeply in video/audio post-production, animation, compositing and visual effects.  
  • Manage and edit video/audio freelancers and external partnerships.  
  • Help develop video and audio distribution strategies for the IEA’s website and social media channels.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • A university degree in journalism, communications, video/visual production, or related fields
  • Demonstrated at least 4 years of experience working in a multimedia production. 
  • Able to report, produce and technically direct video and audio productions in the field and in the studio. 
  • Can show a portfolio of recent, relevant work. 
  • Able to successfully juggle projects and freelance contributors across different media and timescales. 
  • Works collaboratively and collegially. 
  • Eager to learn new skills both in your own specialty and from the rest of the team. 

Tools

  • Demonstrated technical command of post-production and editing tools and workflows, with a significant specialization in Adobe’s Premiere, After Effects, and Audition. Experience in 3D creation/compositing packages, such as Cinema 4D or Blender is a plus. 
  • Basic understanding of web design including HTML and CSS is a plus.

Languages

  • Fluency in English and knowledge of French, with a commitment to reach a good working level.

Selection Process

For retained candidates, written tests/video-recorded interviews are foreseen mid-January and panel interviews are planned for around mid-February.

Contract Duration

  • Two-year fixed term appointment, with the possibility of renewal.
