Our team and mission
The Mission Operations Definition Unit in the Solar System and Exploration Missions Division is responsible for definition phase activities in the field of mission operations for future ESA missions. One of these activities is the preparation of future robotic missions to the Moon and Mars.

Field(s) of activity/research for the traineeship
As a Young Graduate Trainee, you will join a team responsible for preparing mission operations for future lunar and Martian robotic missions. In particular, you will support operations preparation activities for the Argonaut mission to the Moon. You will also participate in Concurrent Design Facility (CDF) studies for candidate lunar and Martian surface missions. You will also be involved in preparing and carrying out a computer science competition for students (Computer in a Room Challenge).

You should have just completed, or be in the final year of your Master’ s degree in aerospace engineering or computer science.
Additional requirements
You should have good interpersonal and communication skills and should be able to work in a multicultural environment, both independently and as part of a team.
The working languages of the Agency are English and French. A good knowledge of one of these is required. Knowledge of another Member State language would be an asset.
