Country:   Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, British Virigin Islands, Dominica, Grenada, Montserrat, Saint Lucia, St. Kitts and Nevis, St.  Vincent and the Grenadines

 

Description of the Assignment:  (A) Development of National Disability Policy and Action Plan for Grenada - EnGenDER & (B) Regional Disability Strategy and Action Plan for Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean (MCO)

 

Period of assignment/services: 8 Months

Duties and Responsibilities

The overall objective of the consultancy is to advance disability and gender equality through climate change actions, and minimise social, gender-related and climate-related risks, while also endeavouring to promote respect for and observance of the human rights of all people, including women and men from vulnerable or marginalised communities in climate actions.

The overall objective for this consultancy is to:

  • Develop a Regional Disability Strategy and Action Plan for Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean (9 MCO Countries) & a National Disability-specific policy for Grenada with complementary strategies (action plan) on how this policy will be implemented and operationalized.

Competencies

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with government and development partners.
  • Good facilitation and presentation skill.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work with people from different backgrounds to deliver quality products within short timeframe.
  • Displays cultural, gender, religion, race, nationality and age sensitivity and adaptability.
  • Excellent computer literacy.

Required Skills and Experience

Postgraduate degree (MSc, MA, or higher) in disability inclusion, public administration, development studies, socio-economic and gender studies, governance, and policy development or a related field.
