We are looking for an engaged Global Sales Manager - Ecosystem Services, who brings solid expertise and a passion for FSC’s mission, to work with us in a multinational environment.

 

The Scope

To drive the sales of new ground-breaking FSC Ecosystem Services products, such as ES Claims, primarily in carbon and biodiversity markets: The selected candidate will have a sales mindset and a strong in-field network to develop, nurture, support, and grow matchmaking of projects under FSC Ecosystem Services Procedure with investors and sponsors globally, in collaboration with the FSC Network Partners.

 

Main Roles and Responsibilities

  • Own a global sales pipeline
    • Drive interest and demand for FSC verified ecosystem services claims by targeting global key accounts as well as supporting local opportunities developed by FSC Network Partners - building relationships and serving as trusted advisor.
    • Deliver at least 40 sponsorships each calendar year.
    • Develop and own a global ES Claims sales pipeline tool for potential sponsors of Ecosystem Services Procedure, Voluntary Carbon Markets, and/or sustainable finance instruments - while providing support for internal users.
  • Strengthen training, marketing and sales
    • Develop global sales and training materials and adjust to regional needs.
    • Provide training and visibility for the FSC Ecosystem Services programme with global investors, companies, governments, and other relevant stakeholders.
    • Proactively build out global sales capabilities, methodologies, and tools for FSC Ecosystems Services products.
  • Strengthen business model framework
    • Support developing, formalizing, and strengthening relationships with project developers and brokers.
    • Support development of a claims registry, ensuring integrity and compliance with global standards.
    • Support corporate engagement risk assessment and stakeholder management.
  • Collaborate across the organization
    • Closely coordinate with FSC Network Partners and representatives, with a globally aligned approach to local sponsorship opportunities.
    • Coordinate with and support work of other regional and global topic leads through knowledge sharing, internal training, and backstopping.
  • Any other task as assigned by formal supervisor and project work as assigned according to special organizational needs.

 

Qualification, Experience and Skills

  • Education and Training:
    • University degree, or equivalent in a relevant field (e.g., Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, Economics).
  • Working Experience, Style and Skills:
    • At least 5 years of professional experience in one or more of the following: sales and market development, account management, marketing and/or related fields.
    • Strong sales and negotiation skills, trusted relationship builder with networking skills.
    • Experience in managing client portfolios and achieving revenue targets across several countries and in a multicultural environment.
    • Strategic thinking and business mindset, a solution- and service-oriented attitude to work, and a proven ability to plan and organize.
    • Ability to work well as a member of a multi-cultural, inter-disciplinary, multi-lingual, global team.
    • Exemplary verbal and written communication skills.
  • Language and Communication Skills:
    • Fluency in English (spoken and written).
    • Additional fluency in French or Spanish is a plus.
  • Computer Skills – good skills in the use of/experience with:
    • Experience with standard software packages (MS Office) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems e.g. Salesforce.

 

Terms and Conditions

  • Location: Bonn, Germany.
  • Working Hours: Full time- 40 hours per week.
  • Duration of Employment: Temporary contract- 2 years (extension possible, subject to satisfactory performance).
  • Starting Date: As soon as possible.
  • Travel: Sporadic travel is required.
