BACKGROUND

Purpose of Activity/Assignment:

Development of resource mobilization, advocacy, and event management documents, reports, and tools in support of the successful delivery of the UNICEF WASH Resource Mobilization and Advocacy strategies.

Scope of Work:

One of the programming approaches under UNICEF’s strategic plan is to leverage public and private financing for scaled-up, sustainable WASH programs. UNICEF WASH teams globally are currently deploying a resource mobilization strategy to leverage the much-needed resources and accelerate progress towards SDG 6.1 and 6.2 on Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene.

The strategy objective is to empower UNICEF WASH staff to engage in financing discussions with governments, the private sector, and financial institutions and make informed decisions about where best to focus UNICEF’s partnership efforts.

Equally important is the team's focus on high-level advocacy to make sure that we make the best use of our internal and external assets to drive policy changes to help making greater progress toward SDG6 targets and increase children’s access to water, sanitation, and hygiene.

The Partnerships and Advocacy consultant, working with the Partnership Manager, will develop resource mobilization, advocacy, and event management documents and tools to facilitate the successful implementation of the team’s resource mobilization and advocacy strategies.
