Communications Officer - Content Specialist

The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) is a multilateral development bank whose mission is financing the Infrastructure for Tomorrow—infrastructure with sustainability at its core. We began operations in Beijing in January 2016 and have since grown to 109 approved members worldwide. We are capitalized up to USD100 billion and Triple-A-rated by the major international credit rating agencies. Working with partners, AIIB meets clients’ needs by unlocking new capital and investing in infrastructure that is green, technology-enabled and promotes regional connectivity.

The Communications Department seeks a Communications Officer who will specialize in creating content for the Bank’s online and offline public relations purposes across internal and external channels. The successful candidate for this role will determine and develop the content creation that will power AIIB’s public relations globally; helping to promote the Bank's image and build its reputation as a best-in-class multinational development bank based in Asia.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Turning news about AIIB’s investment projects into compelling stories for omnichannel campaigns and targeted outreach efforts.
  • Developing plans to ensure that content is salient for target audiences.
  • Creating news narratives and brand stories designed to inform, illuminate and inspire a wide range of communities – calculated for algorithms – with whom the Bank seeks to build and manage strategic stakeholder relationships.
  • Crafting and curating content for the Bank's social media streams, present and potential.
  • Leveraging data and analytics to inform evidence-based and data-driven campaigns of engagement.
  • Managing content calendars; coordinating with digital and creative partners to synchronize collective communication that adds measurable value.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Minimum 5-8 years of experience in a content development role in the public or private sectors.
  • First-class writing skills, adept at composing content to share news or tell stories.
  • Effortless literacy in relevant digital technologies, including all leading social networks. Audio and video production prowess is a definite plus.
  • Adaptability, agility and flexibility across a diverse range of issues and situations.
  • Able to work independently and knows how to take the initiative to put plans into action.
  • Can work under time pressure and deploy rapidly and reliably against deadlines in a fast-paced modern corporate communications environment.
  • Has a knack for simplifying complex information into relatable content.
  • Thrives on bringing creativity and new thinking and original ideas to the job.
  • Ambition to influence public opinion and stakeholder sentiment outcomes through communication intended to achieve specific commercial and organizational outcomes.
  • Committed to the highest standards of ethics and excellence in the communications craft.
  • Concerned about climate change and interested in a meaningful job helping communicate about climate solutions.
  • Innovative, collaborative and inclusive, and can work well with others.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. The ability to speak other languages is a definite plus.
  • Master’s degree or equivalent in communications, journalism, political science, economics/finance, international relations, public affairs, marketing or other related fields from a reputable university.
  • The ideal candidate has experience in the following fields: corporate communications, journalism, government relations, professional services or public affairs.
  • Experience working in international associations, civil society organizations, political campaigns or in science communication would also be an advantage.

AIIB is committed to diversity, transparency and inclusion. We believe our strength comes from having a team with the right diverse skills, experiences and abilities selected through a merit-based competitive process. We actively encourage applications from people from both within and outside AIIB members, regardless of nationality, religion, gender, race, disability or sexual orientation.

Join in AIIB’s mission to promote sustainable infrastructure investments and to improve social and economic outcomes in Asia and beyond.

Previous experience and qualifications will determine the grade and job title at which successful applicants will enter AIIB.
