Jordan: Capacity Development Specialist Consultant
In Jordan, GGGI supports the Government in achieving full effective implementation of the National Green Growth Plan (NGGP) – including originating green investment opportunities, providing technical assistance to address financing barriers for green projects, supporting institutional action planning and target setting, and developing capacity in critical institutions to implement green growth – with the aim of helping transition the country on to a green growth pathway. Key to achieving this support is a clear understanding of existing capacity gaps across government, and a measurable plan for improving this capacity.
Purpose. In support of GGGI’s 2017-18 Work Program, the Capacity Development Specialist will support the GGGI-Jordan program’s efforts to:
- Better understand gaps in green growth knowledge across government and private sector stakeholders
- Build awareness and understanding across broad range of Jordanian stakeholders
- Develop key government stakeholders into agents of change within their institutions
- Coordinate and implement trainings on targeted subjects that will help catalyze green growth implementation in Jordan

Scope of Work:
The Capacity Development Specialist will be responsible for the design and implementation of a program focused on capacity building and knowledge sharing to stakeholders of the GGGI-Jordan program. He/she will engage with local stakeholders to identify their green growth gaps and learning needs, design trainings and approaches using innovative and effective learning methods, and liaise with internal and external experts to deliver tailor-made programs that enhance the understanding of green growth.
