The People and Change Group (PCG) based in UNOPS Headquarters in Copenhagen supports UNOPS to empower people, drive organisational excellence and manage change across the organisation in order to help the organisation deliver its strategic intent.

We work in a dynamic team-based approach and drive to get things done.  We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and innovative Change Management Advisor to join the Change Management team and drive our work forward.  This is an opportunity to shape UNOPS approach to innovation, knowledge management and change management, working in a global role.

Under the guidance of the Head of Change Management, the Advisor will contribute to the implementation of the corporate change management portfolio and be responsible for the analytics function of PCG.

Functional Responsibilities

The key responsibilities include:
1. Change Management
  • Manage and oversee Change Management Engagements (incl. project stakeholder management, project management, project documentation, workshops, post-implementation follow-up as needed)
  • Develop options and improvement projects that impact on driving the UNOPS Change Management function forward including the development of business cases and other proposals to expand, strengthen and enhance the function
2. Corporate advisory / Change portfolio management
  • Advise internal clients on issues that may impact the achievement of the desired change outcomes including establishing solid working relationships with the key stakeholders
  • Provide substantive input to the development and implementation of organizational design principles
  • Input into and deliver on the CM component of business planning and quarterly business review process.
  • Advise executive leadership on Change Portfolio Management issues using meaningful performance metrics and analytics
3. People and Change analytics
  • Oversee the management and direction of PCG Analytics, including: development, planning and evaluation people and change data, reports and dashboards.
  • Derive business insights and oversee the development of products from UNOPS systems
  • Communicate relevant findings and risks associated to PCG management and stakeholders.
  • Serve as subject matter expert (SME) for business data and analytics in support of business initiatives. Act as a liaison between IT, data and business.
  • Manage and develop personnel in the execution of analytical & statistical products and presentations.

4. Team leadership

  • With PCG Leadership and under the Head of Change Management, plan and allocate resources to achieve goals and ensure the cost effective and appropriate use of resources in accordance with UNOPS standards of ethics, integrity and accountability framework.
  • Acts as leader, coach, and mentor to junior colleagues, and as valued contributor to department and corporate projects.
  • Promote teamwork and collaboration by providing the team with clear direction, objectives and guidance to enable them to perform their duties responsibly, effectively and efficiently.

5. Knowledge management and innovation

  • Contribute to the ongoing update of UNOPS Change Management framework and body of knowledge to ensure the organization is incorporating best practice approaches. 
  • Lead/design refinements to processes to maximize the benefits of management information system to enhance transparency, efficiency and facilitate organizational/management monitoring, oversight and reporting.
  • Lead/organize training events and design/set training agenda to build capacity of stakeholders on Change Management and People & Change Analytics. Determine and make available sufficient and expert resources for training events.

Education

  • An advanced degree in Economics, Finance, Marketing, Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, Social Sciences, Political Science, International Relations, Engineering, Information and Communication Technology or other related field
  • A combination of Bachelor’s degree with an additional 2 years of relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of the education requirements outlined above
  • Professional Change Management certification (i.e. APMG or similar) is an asset
Experience:

A minimum of 7 years relevant experience in change management, business transformation, strategy development, organisation development or process excellence.

Experience in the following is considered an asset:

  • Knowledge of change management principles and methodologies
  • Management of the roll out of global change management or process excellence projects
  • Development and execution of communication and stakeholder engagement strategies

Proficiency with Microsoft Applications including Excel and PowerPoint, including the ability to present data in a clear and meaningful way is an asset.

Previous experience working in a global or international organisation is an asset.
Language:
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Fluency in another UNOPS official language (French and / or Spanish) is a distinct asset

Contract type, level and duration

Contract type: International Individual Contract Agreement (ICA)
Contract level: IICA-3
Contract duration: 1 year, renewable upon satisfactory performance and available budget.
