Context:

Under the direct supervision of the Migration Management Coordinator (MMC) and the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission (CoM), the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with project management of the UPU (Universal Postal Union)-IOM-RNP (Regie Nationale des Postes) Migration and Development Integrated Postal Project in Burundi. Core Functions / Responsibilities:

1. Supervise the overall implementation of the project in a timely manner in close coordination with the MMC, relevant colleagues and implementing partners.

2. Draft and coordinate regular project reports in a timely manner to be submitted to the CoM, Donors, and Headquarters.

3. Manage the information management tools required to track service delivery and identify gaps. Conduct outreach with donors to assist in fundraising for the project’s full funding cycle and provide regular updates with current donors.

4. Provide technical assistance to the RNP with a view to concluding specific partnerships with different money transfer operators.

In cooperation with RNP, assist in the development of savings facilities and financial products to meet the needs of migrants and their families (savings, insurance, investment, etc.). 6. Guide in the development of financial products tailored to agricultural needs, liaise to obtain the necessary regulatory approvals and to for agricultural processing working with the diaspora abroad to help facilitate the market abroad.

7. Ensure that the quality of customer service provided is monitored by RNP users and feedback provided by target beneficiaries and diaspora.

8. Regular communication with internal and external counterparts, promoting shared goals across remote localities, and carry out staff development activities to achieve goals efficiently and avoid duplication.

9. Supervise project staff and monitor project progress to document and evaluate results, increase effectiveness and recommend appropriate action within the RNP team.

10. Participate in Steering Committee Meetings Represent the implementing partners in relation to the project at relevant meetings, including in donor briefings, field visits and conducting media outreach to promote the project.

11. Monitor the funds and propose corrective measures in coordination with the Steering Committee, the Resource Management Officer, the Chief of Mission, and the Regional Office (RO).

12. Under the guidance of the MCC and CoM, contribute technical inputs for project design and development with RO and HQs thematic specialists within the framework of IOM confidentiality and data protection guidelines.

13. Coordinate workshops for relevant stakeholders to share experiences/best practices between key players.

14. Monitor that environment, gender, children, and other vulnerable groups in the project implementation are considered throughout the programme.

15. Undertake duty travel relating to project activities as required.

16. Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

Education

• Master’s degree in International Relations, Finance, Project Management, Business Administration or a related field from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant professional experience; or

• University degree in the above fields with four years of relevant professional experience. Experience

• Experience in project management or finance, preferably in an international non-profit organization;

• Field experience in one of the UN Common System organizations is a distinct advantage; • Experience in liaising with governments, international organizations and the private sector is an asset;

• Profound knowledge on remittances and financial services is a distinct advantage. Page 2 / 4Languages

Fluency in English is required. Working knowledge of French is a distinct advantage. Desirable Competencies:

Other:

Internationally recruited professional staff are required to be mobile.
