Operating since 2004 in Lebanon, DRC has addressed the needs and rights of vulnerable populations, working initially with Palestinian refugees (since 2004), Iraqi refugees (2007-2010), Lebanese IDPs (during the 2006 conflict), migrant domestic workers (since 2009) and, since 2011, responding to the Syrian refugee crisis.

DRC Lebanon is currently delivering programming in protection, housing, infrastructure, basic assistance, livelihoods, and community development interventions. This myriad programming seeks to address the immediate needs of displaced populations and concurrently support vulnerable host populations. DRC has five offices spread throughout Lebanon in, Beirut, the Bekaa, Saida, Tripoli and Qobayat.

In Bekaa you will find one of the most historical places in the world such as the Baalbak temple. It is also a safe and relaxing environment and at the same time very close to Beirut.

About the job

The Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning Assistant will be working under the direct supervision of the Monitoring and Evaluation Manager. She/he will be responsible of communicating M&E information, gathering data from the field staff, following up on activities and reporting. Your main duties and responsibilities will be:

  • Organize and conduct monitoring visits with DRC beneficiaries and to DRC program sites;
  • Assist the MEAL Manager carrying out the daily/weekly/monthly work plan;
  • Assist the MEAL Manager with administrative and logistic requirements of the M&E Team;
  • Ensure monitoring schedule, data collection targets, and reporting deadlines are adhered to;
  • Assist with all other duties as required by the MEAL Manager.

About you

To be successful in this role we expect you to have Bachelor degree/ in social sciences, humanities, quantitative/qualitative research methods, public health, any other related field, or a high school diploma with significant professional experience, or another related field. Moreover, we also expect the following:

Required

  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience – preferably in social work, community development, non-government, and/or outreach organizations;
  • Good knowledge of local context and community in the Bekaa and/or South areas;
  • Knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Access required;
  • Excellent interpersonal/communication skills and a strong team spirit;
  • Self-motivated and organized with a demonstrated capacity to manage time and personal work plan;
  • Experience working with communities, families and individuals with special needs;
  • Experience using survey and/or database software and tools
  • Fluency (native speaker) in written and spoken Arabic, good written and spoken English

We offer

Contract length: 6 months until December 2018

Level:  B1, Monthly Basic Salary USD 1250.

Duty Station: Bekaa with frequent visit to Saida

Start date: ASAP
