WFP seeks candidates of the highest integrity and professionalism who share our humanitarian principles Selection of staff is made on a competitive basis, and we are committed to promoting diversity and gender balance     JOB TITLE: FSIN Global publications facilitator TYPE OF CONTRACT: Regular consultant UNIT/DIVISION: OSZAF DUTY STATION (City, Country): Rome, Italy DURATION & STARTING DATE: 6 months, starting on 24 September 2018 (with possible 5-month extension).   BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT: WFP’s Analysis and Trends Service (OSZA) based in Rome, Italy, hosts the Secretariat of the Food Security Information Network (FSIN) which was launched by FAO, IFPRI and WFP in 2012.   FSIN has three main work streams: 1.    Global publications on Food Crises 2.    Global Network against Food Crises 3.    Resilience Evidence for Decisions in Development Initiative.   The incumbent will facilitate the work stream on global publications on Food Crises. This includes the flagship publication “Global Report on Food Crises”, which is produced in collaboration with 15 organizations, and the regular food security monitoring report to the UN Security Council. S/He will report to the FSIN Global Coordinator and will work in close collaboration with the FSIN Secretariat team members, WFP Vulnerability Analysis and Mapping, FAO and IFPRI, as well as all partners engaged in the FSIN work streams.   ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: The overall responsibility is to ensure the effective production of the FSIN publications on Food Crises in line with FSIN principles and guidelines. * Ensure that all publications, reports and products are timely produced and technically sound; (quality assurance); * Oversee the production of the report (drafting, editing, translating and printing); * Facilitate a multi-stakeholder, consultative and consensus-based process; * Organise and prepare two technical consultations with partners (October and January); * Document the outcomes and decisions of technical consultations and working sessions throughout the process; * Update/refine existing technical guidance related to the main FSIN publications on Food Crises; * Contribute to the elaboration and dissemination of the reports’ outputs and messages, and various communication materials * Contribute to the design and development of a new FSIN website; identify relevant content related to the Global publications of Food Crises work stream; * Perform other tasks as required to support FSIN activities.   DELIVERABLES AT THE END OF THE CONTRACT: * Relevant background and technical materials for the Technical Consultations; * Minutes of work stream meetings; * Report to the UN Security Council, issue #5; * 2019 Global Report on Food Crises.     Terms and Conditions: WFP offers a competitive compensation package which will be determined by the contract type and selected candidate’s qualifications and experience. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Education: A graduate or post-graduate university degree in food security, economics, statistics, social science, geography, public health, demography or related field   Experience: * Over five years of professional experience (preferably in an international context) in food security analysis *  A proven record of writing technical and non-technical reports   Knowledge & Skills: * Good knowledge of Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) and/or Cadre Harmonise; * Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; * Strong inter-personal and group work facilitation skills; * Strong planning and organising skills; ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure, together with flexibility to respond to peaks in activity; * Proactive approach with the ability to give and receive open feedback.   Languages: * Excellent oral and written English; * Intermediate level of French or Spanish would be an asset
