Nepal: Transport and Mobility Consultant

Based in Seoul, the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) is an intergovernmental organization founded to support and promote a model of economic growth known as "green growth", which targets key aspects of economic performance such as poverty reduction, job creation, social inclusion, and environmental sustainability. The organization partners with countries, multilateral institutions, government bodies, and the private sector to help build economies that grow strongly and are more efficient and sustainable in the use of natural resources, less carbon intensive, and more resilient to climate change.

In Nepal, GGGI is working under the guidance of the Ministry of Forests and Environment, and in partnership with the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, to deliver the Electric Mobility Program (EMP). Phase 1 of this program spanned 2017-18, and involved the production of a ‘National Action Plan for Electric Mobility’, a pre-feasibility study for deploying electric buses, and the development of a set of investment projects for electric mobility. Phase II of this program will span 2019-20.

GGGI is looking for a consultant to join the team to support technical assistance and delivery of technical components of the Phase II of EMP. Activities will include a range of review, research, assessment of electric mobility options, stakeholder engagement and consultation, and the preparation of reports and recommendations for electric mobility, including strategy, plans and project concepts.
