Electronics Technical Engineer (TE-MPE-EE-2019-1-LD)

Geneva (Switzerland)

Company Description

At CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, physicists and engineers are probing the fundamental structure of the universe. Using the world's largest and most complex scientific instruments, they study the basic constituents of matter - fundamental particles that are made to collide together at close to the speed of light. The process gives physicists clues about how particles interact, and provides insights into the fundamental laws of nature. Find out more on http://home.cern.

Job Description

  • Extensive experience in the design of both analogue and digital electronics with an emphasis on AC/DC and DC/DC conversion, filtering, FPGA and microcontroller based electronics, simulation tools and generation of PCB layouts.
  • Extensive experience in the testing of electronics and in the measurement techniques.
  • Initial experience in power electronics and related controls (e.g. design of capacitor banks to store electrical energy, power switches).
  • Initial experience in the development of state-of-the-art automated test systems for analogue circuit boards.

Experience in the following domains will be valued:

  • Commissioning and operation of complex industrial and/or scientific electronic systems.
  • Assembling of electronic crates, racks and cabinets.
