CONSULTANCY TO UNDERTAKE DEVELOPMENT OF A GRANTS MANAGEMENT MANUAL FOR THE ECOLOGICAL ORGANIC AGRICULTURE (EOA) INITIATIVE IN AFRICA

The task will be conducted by a consultant or team of consultants with the team leader and
partners having the following main qualifications:
1) Team leader holds a master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics and any other
related field.
2) Have a minimum of five years’ working experience with NGOs as especially those working
in agriculture, development, ecological organic agriculture in grants administration /
manager.
3) Relevant practical experience in developing or reviewing Sub-Grants and or finance
manuals for international organizations issuing sub-grants.
4) Working knowledge of sub-grants management process of key international donors.
5) Previous work experience working for international donor organizations and extensive
knowledge of the donor requirements.
6) Experience of having worked with partners in Africa will be preferred.
7) Excellent report writing and presentations skills.
8) Sound communication and personal skills.
9) Good communication skills, both orally and in writing.
10) Fluency in written and spoken English.

Interested candidates should submit the following:
a) Technical proposal covering the following components
ü Their understanding of the assignment based on the TOR
ü Proposed methodology for conducting the assignment
ü Proposed timeframe detailing activities and a work plan
ü Addressing the selection criteria including how the candidate’s previous experience
matches the consultancy objectives and their interest for the assignment.
ü Team composition and level of effort of each proposed team member.
b) Financial proposal showing the total cost of developing the grants manual, breakdown of
consultancy costs (including costing of each member of the team, man-days for each team
member), travel and other costs linked to this assignment. This consultancy is expected to
be conducted within a cost of USD 6,000-8,000.
c) At least one sample report of a similar assignment conducted in the past three years.
d) Detailed curriculum vitae of the consultant(s) to be involved in the assignment, with relevant
supporting documents (including detailed work experience, education/degrees, and details
of similar assignments)
e) Names and contacts of three professional references (phone numbers and email).
f) A one-page write-up showing why you are most suitable for undertaking the consultancy.
