The Adolescent Development Officer post is based under the education section of UNICEF Nepal Country Office.

Nepal Country Office programme focus has continuously changed over last 50 years to meet the changing needs of children, adolescents ad women in Nepal. The Adolescent Development Officer position is focused to provide technical, operational and administrative assistance throughout the programming process to support the integration of adolescent development and participation in programmes/projects within the Country Programme.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES and DUTIES & TASKS

Join Nepal Country Office team as Adolescent Development Officer for preparing, executing, managing and implementing a variety of technical and administrative programme tasks to support the development and formulation of the adolescent development and participation programmes/projects within the education section and the Country Programme. Key accountabilities include:

  • Support to programme development and planning
  • Programme management, monitoring and delivery of results
  • Technical and operational support to programme implementation
  • Networking and partnership building
  • Innovation, knowledge management and capacity building

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have....

  1. Education

A university degree in one of the following fields is required: anthropology, psychology, sociology, education or another relevant technical field.

  1. Work Experience

Minimum of two years professional experience in social development planning and management in adolescent, including and education related areas, is required.

Experience implementing formal or non-formal education and lifeskills activities, including secondary education activities for youth and adolescents is an asset.

Experience working with or in youth-led initiatives/organizations, youth entrepreneurship and micro-enterprises, and innovation is an asset.

Experience working in a developing country is considered as an asset. Relevant experience in a UN system agency or organization is considered as an asset.

Background/familiarity with Emergency situations.

  1. Language Proficiency

Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of the local working language of the duty station is required.
