For every child, education 

Purpose of the Job

Under the overall guidance of the Education Specialist from the Education in Emergencies Team, the consultant will design and layout several key documents on the Education Response to COVID-19.

  • The consultant will design and layout key documents on Education Response to COVID-19;
  • The consultant will submit high-quality products in the different formats requested by the team/section; 
  • The consultant will communicate regularly and when necessary with the Education Specialist (Education in Emergencies Team) and the Education in Emergencies’ team members to make sure the desired results are achieved, and products are delivered within established deadlines.

How can you make a difference?

Expected Results 

  • Design and layout publications, documents, reports, brochures, leaflets, infographics, among others, according to UNICEF’s style and brand policy and guidelines. The consultant must follow UNICEF’s branding and editorial policies and guidelines.
  • The consultant should submit high-quality products in the different formats requested by the team/section.

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications

  • Education: University degree in Graphic Design, Design Management or any other relevant degree.
  • Work Experience: A minimum of four years’ experience working in graphic design. Work experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Keynote, Microsoft Office, Prezi. A good understanding of the principles of graphic design; layout, composition, color theory and typography.
  • Languages: Fluency in Spanish is required.
  • Technical knowledge: 
    • Professional technical knowledge and expertise in graphic design; layout, composition, color theory and typography.
      Other skills and attributes (optional)
      Ability to develop and adapt materials respecting the guidelines, branding and editorial policies of UNICEF.
    • Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines. Must be detail oriented and creative and possess strong communication skills.
    • Capacity to work in stressful conditions.
    • Flexibility and adaptability to shifting conditions and work demands.
    • Capacity to communicate effectively and work collaboratively.
    • High level of Integrity and commitment to UNICEF's mission and professional values.
    • Good judgment, initiative, high sense of responsibility, tact and discretion.

Supervision: the consultant will work under the direct supervision of the Education Specialist (Education in Emergencies Team) and the Education in Emergencies´ team members.

Workplace: the consultant will be requested to work remotely, home-based.

Duration:
estimated start date of this individual contract is 20 July 2020.

Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.
