Job Overview:

The community outreach assistant will play a key role in ensuring vulnerable refugees and immigrants served by the IRC in New Jersey have the information, tools and understanding to be healthy and effectively navigate local systems, benefits and resources. They will work across programs to provide outreach, education, health promotion and interpretation services. This position is grant-funded through November 2020.

Major Responsibilities:
Conduct outreach to local refugee populations to using identified community health education materials
Facilitate in-language remote health education programming related to COVID-19 safety and other relevant health education needs, in individual and group formats
Provide related interpretation services
Collaborate with IRC staff across programs to support case management needs of select refugee families
Case note and document services provided according to program guidelines
