Digital Marketing Automation Officer

Organizational Setting and Work Relationships
The Digital Engagement team is to help the organisation to accelerate public engagement and audience growth from digital channels.
The Digital Marketing Officer will be responsible for cultivating methods increasing UNHCR¿s global digital reach and improve supporter growth and development of new and existing audiences from all key digital channels and specifically through marketing automation.
The job requires identifying and implementing strategies and techniques that improve UNHCR¿s ability to acquire and communicate with new and existing non-financial and financial supporters through all marketing automation channels, strategically supporting National Associations, Fundraising teams, Branch offices and other colleagues in all of their marketing automation communications and campaign activities related to supporter growth, and conducting analysis and recommendations in order to meet global digital audience growth targets and KPIs.
The role will provide significant support to PSP for marketing automation (email/SMS/Social etc). The role will also look across digital innovations globally to help ensure UNHCR is maximising the potential of new marketing automation technologies and platforms.  S/he will be responsible for managing the organisational marketing automation platform and associated technical integrations including platform operation, configuration, administration, performance measurement and reporting and identification of trends and insights.  Documenting automation best practices and providing training and support across markets and stakeholders to optimize spend and performance.

Duties
- Support the development of digital strategy, capacity, skills and tools to increase digital engagement globally through digital automated communication platforms and journeys (email/SMS).
- Plan and implement global and regional email/SMS marketing strategies.
- Provide advice, training and support on email/SMS automated marketing programmes and data segmentation across the organisation.  To include acquisition, retention, upgrade, and supporter engagement programmes.
- Report and analyse email performance globally.
- Improve UNHCR¿s long-term digital reach, supporter growth and engagement from email/SMS and mobile technologies.
- Support National Associations and Branch Offices and other colleagues within the network for digital engagement and acquisition strategies and campaigns to ensure that each office/region is aligning to UNHCR¿s global digital growth and engagement targets.
- Contribute to the development of performance protocols and monitor targets for UNHCR¿s long-term and short-term global digital engagement goals for email/SMS marketing.
- Support the definition and implementation of strategies related to increasing audience to, and engagement with, global digital properties including the UNHCR.org website and social networks.
- Develop an email/SMS testing strategy and adopt a test and learn approach and use this to develop an ongoing optimisation plan.
- Identify and execute effective ways to improve engagement and support from new and existing digital audiences.
- Keep abreast of and maximise use of new innovations and emerging technologies for automated marketing as required to help UNHCR with its global digital engagement goals.
- Assist the Senior Digital Engagement Officer and other colleagues within the network in ensuring that digital engagement strategies and priorities are effectively implemented as required.
- Manage relationships with agencies and external suppliers as required.
- Work with database manager and wider team to develop segmentation strategies that leverage data to enhance and improve email campaign results and achieve marketing objectives.
- Be the first point of contact in the organisation for all enquiries related to the global automated marketing platform (currently Selligent) and provide all necessary training, guidelines and support on how to best use the platform and its different functionalities and products.
- Plan and deliver ongoing email programmes for the 'International' (English) language market.
- Ensure offices roll out best practice use for automated marketing including producing best practice guidelines and necessary training.
- Support the design, development, implementation and measurement of marketing automation lead nurture programs - all aspects of the process from target segmentation, list acquisition and importing, database queries, creation of email and landing page templates, lead scoring, scheduling, and reporting.
- Ensure day-to-day communication between divisions, the network of Branch Offices, National Associations and the International PSP team.
- Perform other related duties as required.

Essential
- Minimum 6 years previous relevant work experience in developing and executing automated marketing strategies for non-profit and/or commercial clients on an International level.
- Experience of managing marketing automation platform/s.
- Solid experience and deep understanding of automated journey building (cross channel).
- Strong experience with digital engagement, and supporter growth tactics including a firm grasp of all key digital channels.
- Solid understanding and experience of KPI¿s, LTV, ROI, cross channel and performance reporting.
- Proven experience with online audience and income generation & the development of digital campaigns and strategies.
- Experience working in a digital capacity within a large International organisation or UN agency.
- Experience with HTML editor and image editor tools (Dreamweaver and Photoshop).
- Knowledge of email best practice, testing methodologies, CAN-SPAM laws, and data protection regulations.
- In-depth understanding of digital customer decision journeys.
- Innovation and creativity including ability to strategize on how to use new technologies and market trends to develop a brand¿s awareness and supporter base.
- Strong project management experience and high planning capacity.
- Strong data evaluation experience, with the ability to extract and interpret data from various sources to offer creative marketing solutions and business decisions.
- Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills with ability to build strong working relationships.
- Detailed understanding of data and complex audience/donor segmentation.
- In depth knowledge of Google analytics and A/B testing software.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
