Asylee Caseworker

The Asylee Caseworker provides direct support to the Asylee Walk-in Program to provide walk-in and referred clients who have been newly granted asylum access to services at the Suburban Washington Resettlement Center (SWRC).The caseworker will ensure that all clients receive high quality services and access to case management services, cash assistance, employment opportunities and other transitional adjustment services in accordance with government contracts and IRC internal policies and procedures.

This position reports to the Casework Supervisor.

Essential Job Functions:

• Conduct comprehensive intake and assessment for designated families and develop plans in partnership with families to meet their needs;

• Maintain comprehensive, up-to-date case-note services log containing detailed information about service provision;

• Maintain copies of all appropriate documents, referral letters, forms and other data in client case files;

• Provide orientation and counseling on Transitional Refugee Cash Assistance (RTCA) benefits and information on the Match Grant and Temporary Cash Assistance for non-RTCA eligible clients;

• Comply with agency policies, protocols and case management best practices;

• Participate in meetings, trainings, and workshops as requested by the IRC and partner agencies;

• Other tasks and projects as assigned
