OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME
WHO is the specialized agency of the United Nations with objectives to promote health, keep the world safe and serve the vulnerable. The WHO Indonesia Country Office directs and coordinates the authority for health by supporting the Indonesian Government in the formulation, implementation and evaluation of national health policies, strategies and plans, setting norms and standards, improving knowledge dissemination and management, monitoring the country health situation and building sustainable institutional capacity. The WHO Country Office collaborates with the Government of Indonesia in stewardship and advocacy for healthier populations through addressing the determinants of health, and for achieving universal health coverage to ensure accessible, affordable and quality health services for all.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
Under the direct supervision of the National Professional Officer for Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Adolescent and Child Health, and the overall guidance of the Team Lead, Noncommunicable Diseases and Healthier Populations, the incumbent will perform the following duties:
1. Provide technical assistance to MoH and partners on the design and implementation of maternal, newborn and child health promotion programmes and healthcare services;
2. Provide technical assistance for development of maternal, newborn and child health policies and programme implementation including those related to Maternal Perinatal Death Surveillance and Response (MPDSR), prevention of mother to child transmission of HIV/early infant diagnosis, prematurity, essential newborn care, breast feeding, care for low birth weight infants, birth defects, Integrated Management of Childhood Illnesses (IMCI), early child development, nurturing care framework and pediatric mortality review;
3. Support monitoring of maternal, newborn and child health programs and progress tracking for the related Sustainable Development Goal targets;
4. Liase with relevant partners and strengthen inter-stakeholder collaboration with Government, UN agencies, professional associations and NGOs to support effective policy development and implementation;
5. Support MOH in the technical and administrative implementation of MOH/WHO collaborative programmes for maternal, newborn and child health, including development of workplans, proposals, monitoring, evaluation and reporting on implementation; and
6. Undertake any other tasks/duties as may be assigned by supervisors.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Essential: University degree in medicine, nursing or midwifery from a recognized university.
Desirable: Master degree or specialized medical training in public health, maternal, paediatric, child health, or related health subject.
Experience
Essential: At least one year of work experience in public health programme implementation, preferably in maternal, newborn and child health programmes at national or subnational level.
Desirable: Additional years of experience in public health or clinical maternal, newborn and child health programs. Previous experience of working with UN agencies or international development organizations. Advanced training in maternal, newborn and child health.

REMUNERATION
Remuneration comprises an annual base salary starting at IDR 409,050,000 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable) and 30 days of annual leave.
