Background: The International Rescue Committee helps people whose lives and livelihoods are shattered by conflict and disaster to survive, recover, and gain control of their future.

Scope of Service: The Economic Empowerment AmeriCorps will provide training on topics including job readiness, financial and digital literacy, and vocational English and support other activities to help recently arrived refugees and other immigrants attain economic self-sufficiency through employment. This position reports to the Senior Employment Specialist.

Responsibilities:

•Deliver job readiness training and update curriculum as needed

•Facilitate financial and digital literacy to clients via individual or group sessions as needed

•Conduct vocational workshops including, but not limited to, cultural awareness in the workplace, new hire onboarding and documentation preparation, mock interviews, resume building, and job skills development

•Conduct pre- and post-assessments for program monitoring and evaluation

•Track attendance and client progress both electronically and in client physical files

•Provide employment and job placement support as needed, including employer outreach for job development and one-on-one client meetings

•Participate in all program meetings, development activities, and other meetings as needed
