Overview of position |
Under
the overall supervision of the Area Shelter Coordinator and the direct
supervision of the Shelter Manager, the successful candidate will provide support in the
daily management and coordination of assigned shelter and of follow-up with
beneficiaries. |
Role objectives |
1.Act as general point of contact in all matters pertinent to the organizations intervention on site.
4.Support the Shelter Manager in cases of safety and security incidents and emergency evacuations. 5.Support the reception and identification of beneficiaries and shelter administration in the daily management and coordination of the shelter. 6.Assist the authorities and the coordination mechanisms in relation to issues pertaining to contingency planning, emergency preparedness and site life cycle developments. 7.Support in managing information, including data collection on activities and service provision, and information dissemination to beneficiaries, on-site actors and stakeholders.
8. Encourage and monitor engagement, mobilization,
and participation of shelter beneficiaries with particular emphasis on the
inclusion of women, children, elderly, and persons with specific needs,
including migrants with health needs and migrants with disabilities into
decision-making processes 9.Ensure meaningful access, accountability, participation, and empowerment for the affected populations. 10.Advocate and ensure protection mainstreaming in all cross-cutting interventions related to the project.

Skills: ·Excellent communication and negotiation skills, personal commitment, efficiency and flexibility; ·Ability to work with minimal supervision; ·Excellent level of computer literacy; ·Strong work ethics and commitment to human rights law and humanitarian principles; ·Strong organizational, facilitation, communication, writing and presentations skills; ·Proficient use of commonly used IT equipment and the appropriate software solutions. ·Willingness to travel and work under difficult conditions;
Valid driver’s license with at least five years
driving experience. Experience: ·Previous experience working in a similar position; ·Familiar with direct assistance to migrants; ·Ability to prevent and address discrimination and xenophobia; ·Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and keep deadlines;
Experience in working in a multi-cultural environment; Education: ·High School Diploma with five years of relevant work experience; or ·Bachelor’s degree from an accredited academic institution with three year of relevant work experience.
Master’s degree will be considered an advantage. |
