Intern Gender Equality
Are you a student in your final years that want to get an insight in how gender equality is applied within developing cooperation?
We Effect is a development organisation founded by the Swedish cooperative movement in 1958 to support the development of democratic organisations and societies. In our international development cooperation programmes, we are applying a human rights-based approach supporting people living in poverty to secure their rights.
We Effect works in around 20 countries in Asia, Europe, Latin America and Africa through our regional offices in partnership with local CSO’s, farmer organisations, cooperative federations and other democratic organisations. We Effect is now looking for an intern with a focus on gender equality. The intern will part of the technical unit in the international department in Stockholm. The internship is a full-time position for six months. Start date in January 2023 and end date to be agreed upon with chosen applicants.
Main responsibilities
The intern will work together with the global gender advisor to:
· Support a process aiming at harmonising the work for gender equality within the organisation. This includes the support to gather and analyse how regions are working on gender equality as cross-cutting and standalone thematic and identify best practises and gaps.
· Support diverse set of tasks in an end report to back donor. This non-exclusively includes gather and compile narrative texts.
The intern will take part in:
· Meetings at head office level
· Global meetings with technical gender group and other relevant meetings for learning
Required qualifications
Student in Master in gender studies, developing cooperation or similair
· Strong oral and written command of English (Swedish or Spanish is optional)
· Excellency in gather, structure, analyse and compile large amount of narrativ data
· Team player
· Capacity to take initiatives and work independently
· General knowledge in Microsoft
