Job Purpose
International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) with the support of the Government of India, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare has established IRRI-South Asia Regional Centre (ISARC) in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. It is a regional facility that supports research collaboration, training, and service provision to institutions, scientists, farmers, and other stakeholders from India and other South Asian and African nations. The state-of-the-art rice research Centre catalyzes South-South collaboration, strengthens research and capacity development of rice-growing countries in the South Asia and Africa regions, and contributes towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals 2030. Recently the government of India has accorded approval for ISARC phase 2 through an MOU with IRRI to implement next-phase activities up to 2027 to help boost farmers’ incomes by enhancing and supporting rice productivity, reducing the cost of production, value addition, diversification, and enhancement of NARES and farmers’ skills. This position will handle and support online learning & knowledge management for works.
The incumbent will responsible for –
1. Development & Delivery of online learning & knowledge management products.
2. Work on the instructional & media design for the courses.
3. Support in all the processes involved in the courses development like content creation, vetting, & validation.

This position will be based out of the IRRI South Asia Regional Center (ISARC) at Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh and will be filled in only by the permanent citizens of India.
Roles and Responsibilities
The incumbent will be responsible for following activities -
• To contribute to the design and development of microlearning modules, MOOCs, and self-paced e-learning courses.
• Support in Instructional designing of the e-learning courses.
• Support in UI & UX design of existing LMS & web platform of IRRI.
• Support in the identification of suitable media for various content types available in the courses.
• Explore and use new tools and software for e-learning media development
• Coordination with IRRI and external resource persons for content creation, vetting, and validation
• Coordination with internal and external stakeholders for training designing and delivery
• Supporting implementation of the online and face-to-face training program, as and when required
• Support to CEIRD, ISARC and other IRRI programs across South Asia and Africa

- Support to the ISARC and associated projects activities on related aspects/ themes
- Support and contributing to the organization of CoCo, advisory committee, and other important meetings and monitoring/ execution of actions to be taken related to their units /sub-units
- Support and contribute to the efforts on six monthly/annual/ other reports preparation of ISARC and associated projects
- Support on contributing to the drafting of communication materials, news, bulletins, etc of CEIRD, ISARC.
- Support in participation/contribution to visits, meetings, workshops, farmers' fairs and any such events at ISARC
- Support in fund generation activities by contributing to proposal writing and creating new opportunities o Any other tasks as assigned by supervisor and ISARC Director


Engagement
● Engage with IRRI Education team members and IRRI scientists for course development and technical support.
● Engage actively in team meetings, and conduct workshops on instructional design, visual arts & media production to capacitate other team members.


Delivery
● Produce prototypes of Microlearning, Self-paced courses & MOOCs for testing and evaluation.
● Develop interactive multimedia learning content for the project using software/tools. ● Design, develop and improve multimedia content (audio/video/graphics/text materials) for the project.
● Improve the existing UI, and UX of LMS & website.
Qualifications
Completed Master’s degree in the field of Computer Sciences / IT / Digital Multimedia Courses / Communication / Educational Technology / Mass Communication/Fine Arts (Applied Art) or related field & minimum 1 year of work experience with a good knowledge of graphic designing and multimedia working
Skills Required
Mandatory:
Has good experience of graphic designing, course development
Has experience with Adobe suite & articulate 360 Has knowledge and experience in using a wide range of software for videos, photos, and interactive content.
Has strong technical writing, communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred:
Has experience working in a cross-cultural environment Has experience in online course development and delivery.


In addition to the base salary mentioned above, IRRI also offers the following allowances:

House-Rent Allowance: IRRI provides a house rent allowance of 40% of base pay per month.
Transport Allowance: A monthly transport allowance of INR 2,000 Dearness Allowance: One Hundred and Thirteen percent (113%) of employee’s base pay.
Leave Travel Allowance (LTA): One-month base pay per annum, on availing minimum 2 days of vacation leave
