Under the close guidance and supervision of the Regional Chief of HR, the Human Resources Officer is responsible for ensuring human resources policies, procedures and different sets of guidance are clearly understood in the French language for staff across the region to fully comprehend and therefore, apply in practice accordingly.

Purpose of the post
Under the close guidance and supervision of the Regional Chief of HR, the Human Resources Officer is responsible for ensuring human resources policies, procedures and different sets of guidance are clearly understood in the French language for staff across the region to fully comprehend and therefore, apply in practice accordingly. This will involve
Key functions, accountabilities and related duties/tasks
- In close collaboration with division of human resources, Policy and Administrative Law section (PALS) and the different Human Resources practitioners, translate HR texts, policies, and guidance on a wide range of subjects, scrutinizing these documents to ensure that translation is accurate, succinct and lucid; and that they conform to the rules, regulations and processes already put in place.
- Once translated, through webinars and presentations, collaborate with different Human Resources and operations focal points to ensure that these documents are clearly and well understood by all categories of staff.
- Manage the presentation and uploading of documents onto sharepoint, ensuring information is easily accessible and user-friendly.
- Promote ongoing discussions of feedback and identify common questions on policies and procedures and take appropriate steps to address these.
- Support in the disseminating communications on HR initiatives at regional and global levels
Impact of Results:
In carrying out the above duties accurately and in a timely manner, the incumbent contributes to ensuring different HR guidance, reforms, policies, and procedures are clearly understood across the West and Central African region. This in turn contributes to ensuring that HR practice is delivered in strict accordance with these global frameworks, thus strengthening offices capacity in providing HR services that attract, retain, develop, and motivate talent.

Education
University degree in either Policy Studies, Law, Human Resources, Information Management, International Relations, Business Administration, or other relevant social science is required
Experience
At least one year of progressively responsible professional work experience in Human Resources is required. Working experience in policy communication or internal communications an asset.
Language requirement
Fluency in English and French is required
