Vacancy for

Consultant

Research Support to KAICIID Online Resources, Dialogue Knowledge Hub

ORGANIZATIONAL SETTING/CONTEXT

The King Abdullah International Centre for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue (KAICIID), hereinafter also referred to as Centre is an intergovernmental organization that was founded to enable, empower and encourage dialogue among followers of different religions and cultures around the world.

KAICIID’s Dialogue Knowledge Hub (DKH) was established in 2017 aiming to provide access to KAICIID stakeholders, partners and wider IRD community digital resources and networking tools. Together, the DKH programmes and projects offer many different entry points to theoretical knowledge, online courses, webinars, knowledge tools and practical information in the field of Interreligious Dialogue to strengthen social cohesion.

The online e-resource “Religiophobia Index” is envisioned to be a neutral tool, serving the global IRD community without putting a seal of approval on individuals, organizations or programmes.   It will be a specialized database providing information on organisations working in the area of religiophobia at mission, programme, project and initiative levels, including links to websites and open access archives & information.  The geographical focus regions are Asia, Arab States, Latin America and Africa.    The database is designed for practitioners and interested individuals, groups or organisations, especially those living in and dealing with the intolerance generated by such religiophobia.  Displaying the information and details of religiophobia, the Index will be an open access interactive database as well as also being viewable in a static, searchable e-tool.  The index will hold relevant contextual data on dimensions of intolerance that often contribute to tensions and conflicts, including violence in the name of religion.
