Overview of the programme

Under the overall guidance of the WHO Representative and direct supervision of National Program Officer (NCDs and Mental Health) in Myanmar, program and data assistant of Childhood Cancer Initiatives project will work in close collaboration with the Project Manager of Childhood Cancer Initiative Project from the dedicated institution: Yangon and Mandalay Children’s Hospital, in Myanmar.

Description of Duties

1.To support implementation of National Childhood Cancer Control Program (NCCCP) including Childhood Cancer Initiatives (CCI) in the following activities:

a. Assist program officer to develop detail project implementation plan of National Childhood Cancer Control activities including CCI Project activities

b. Support organizing and operation of event/activity/workshop/meeting

c. Assist to develop activity reports including financial report as needed

2.To assist in logistic and supply management of medicines and supplies at implementing facilities and its network sites

3. To perform routine data entry and of research projects

4. To perform translation of English into Burmese and vise-visa

5. Provide necessary administrative assistance for implementation of childhood cancer initiative project activities in coordination with WHO NCD team

6. To conduct office work and other duties as assigned by the NCCCP Program manager and National Program Coordinator

7. To communicate with WHO NCD team for administrative/ logistics and travel formalities for CCI project staff

8. To submit assignment report at the end of assignment

Work relations

The Program and Data Assistant (CCI) provides support to Program Officer (CCI) and relevant stakeholders, Yangon Children Hospital to ensure Childhood Cancer Initiative project activities are implementing in timely and effective manner.

The function plays a key role in project operation and documentation to ensure timely and successful implementation of Childhood Cancer Initiative Programme and National Childhood Cancer Control Program

QUALIFICATION

Education:

Essential: Secondary education or equivalent professional training

Desirable: The University Degree. Computer or relevant certificate for word processing, data management and logistics management.

Experience:

Essential: 3-years of relevant experiences including excellent skills in data management.

Desirable: Good track records of at least three years in Public Health and field experience in Non-communicable diseases or cancer programme. Working experience with MoHS, UN, International/Local NGOs will be an asset

Language skills:

Excellent knowledge of English and Myanmar languages (spoken and written)
